Lets Fly Cheaper Travel Scams Contest

Enter the “Lets Fly Smarter Travel Scams Contest” – Winner gets a $100 Gift Card!
Submissions accepted through February 28, 2012

Travel-related scams are everywhere, from online to under your hotel door.
At Lets Fly Cheaper, we’re on a mission to protect our customers, and the public in general, from a seemingly endless barrage of phony travel websites, ticket offers and other seriously sick scams that target travelers in the US and abroad.

So we’ve decided to do something about it. Expose the scammers!

Have you been victimized by a particularly outrageous travel scam — or know someone who has? Share your story and help LFC make traveling safer (and cheaper — scams are expensive!) for all of us.

It’s easy and free to enter the “Let’s Fly Smarter Travel Scams Contest”

  1. Describe your travel scam in the box below. We want to know all the juicy details. Where you found the offer, what attracted you to it, what seemed legit vs. dicey to you. How/when did you figure out it was a scam? Did you fall for it, and if so, what were the negative consequences to you. How much money did you lose? What other “costs” did you incur (lost time, lost luggage, etc.). Did you report it? To who? What was their response?
  2.  What advice do you have for others who might be tempted to jump at this specific travel offer?
  3. Include your full name, address (city, state or country) and email address. We respect your privacy and will not publish this identifying information, only your first name and last initial and city/state/country.
  4. The email address is so we can contact you if your entry is selected by our judges’ panel.
  5. The contest is open through February 31, 2012. We figure Leap Year is a lucky day to end our contest and start creating better travel karma for us good guys!
  6. Judges will be LFC travel agents.
  7. The winner will receive a $100 gift card from Lets Fly Cheaper and have his/her name and story published on our website and in future press releases.
  8. LFC will also pick other submissions it deems worthy for publication. We reserve the right to select entries for publication on our website and in future press releases about travel scam trends. There is no guarantee your entry will be selected for publication, but if it is, we will protect your privacy as per #2 above.

“Let’s Fly Smarter Travel Scams Contest” is sponsored by Lets Fly Cheaper. It runs through February 31, 2012. If you have questions or comments about the contest contact Ramon Van Meer @ vanmeer@letsflycheaper.com
