Open at this location in February to the middle of March is the Vasalongen Art Show too.

A 1923 picture palace, the Biografen Skandia is Stockholm’s version of the Mann’s Chinese Theater of LA. The Biografen Skandia features a deep blue colored ceiling and a Pompeian rotunda in the lobby. The Stockholm Public Library is also part of Sweden’s beautiful architecture. It has been beautifully preserved and remains a masterpiece designed by Erik Gunnar Asplund in 1924, and is accented with endless shelves of books and artwork by artists like Nils Dardel and Ivar Johnson. The cathedral of Strokyrkan which is 700- years old was once a place for royal wedding ceremonies and coronations, and a beautiful site to visit.

Climate: Stockholm’s summer weather ranges from 20 to 25 degrees Celsius and is pretty mild even in the winter. Bundle up with a lot of thick clothes if you choose to visit Stockholm in January through March and be armed with an umbrella in July through August.

Transportation: Travel around Stockholm by bus, car, motorcycle or train. Bus tickets can be bought at the Busstop ticket office in the Cityterminalen that’s open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 on the weekdays. You can hire a car from Statoil or Avis which are close to the Centralstationen. Trains also run to and from Stockholm where you can find the T-Centralen underground station. There are also boats and ferries to get to different locations like Turku, Helsinki and Tallinn as well.

If you are interested in witnessing the amazing architecture that Stockholm has to offer, be sure to visit Vasa Museum known in Swedish as Vasamuseet. This is a historic ship that King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden. Visiting the Vasa Museum is completely free of charge; this is a great place to take the kids. Let them pretend to be a sailor for a day. Walk alongside the historic and beautiful narrows alleys of Stockholm with Gamla Stan. Gamla Stan is very popular amongst tourist. Here one can enjoy a nice luxuries dinner, sit down at a nice café and rest your feet, or buy souvenirs, for loved ones. Enjoy the many great museums and galleries that Stockholm has to offer.
