Buenos Aires, the fiery and passionate capital of Argentina is everything you would expect, and more. Fiesty and colorful, wonderfully eclectic, down to earth and completely unique. Though Buenos Aires doesn’t carry the same connotations of “party city” as its Brazilian neighbor, Rio de Janeiro, there is never a shortage of excitement in the Argentine capital.
Tango the night away. As the literal birthplace of tango, where better to watch the pros dance the passionate tango than in Argentina’s capital? There are so many different ways to enjoy the tango in Buenos Aires, from dinner shows to dance lessons. For instance, Complejo Tango is a dinner show held at a boutique hotel in Buenos Aires, offering a tango lesson, dinner and then a tango show where you get to watch the professionals dance real, sexy tango as you dine.
Understand the national arts. The Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes is the city’s (and country’s) main art museum. Here, you can explore all of Argentina’s artistic heritage, particularly some of the most famous paintings by Argentine artists such as Carlos Morel, Ernesto de la Cárcova and Fernando Fader.
Explore the unique neighborhoods. Buenos Aires is home to some truly fantastic unique neighborhoods. What better way to gain a true understanding of the city than to explore the areas that only locals frequent? For instance, San Telmo is a historic walking district home to BA’s bohemian culture. Conversely, the vibrant Puerto Madero neighborhood is a great place to explore Buenos Aires’s bumping nightlife and upscale shopping; meanwhile, the lush and stoic Palermo Viejo neighborhood is a lovely place for a stroll and a picnic.
