Qantas passengers are entering into their “New Spirit” era and as the first step in this are renumbering their flights especially those that fly from Bangkok via Singapore to London. Their flagship A380 Airbus flight no. QF1 which flies between Singapore and Bangkok will witness this first change which will start from March

So the flight numbers may come as a change to many passengers, and hence it is advisable to the passengers to recheck their seating choice just in case that too has got renumbered in the shuffling process.

For instance the Singapore to London flight of the Sydney – Singapore – London route which in all these years was QF31 onward and QF32 return will now be QF1 and QF2. The planes will still be Airbus 380 for the routes. QF32 was the ill fated plane last year that experienced engine failure while taking off from Singapore

The other flights from Sydney to Bangkok, which used to fly via London’s Heathrow and now been discontinued will be QF23 and QF 24 for onward and return respectively. The planes will remain Boeing 747 as before but will be upgraded on the inside to the A380 standards. This means in the business class they will have long and fully flat skybeds
